Carriers are formally a Phase 2 duty holder with an October 2027 deadline. In practice your real deadline is a year earlier. This article explains why, what you should capture, and how LoadSnap lets you supply clean handover data without heavy software.
Your duty under Phase 2
As a carrier you record the waste movements you transport, capturing the journey from the point of production. Brokers and dealers do the same for movements they arrange, with their registration and authorisation numbers attached.
Why October 2027 is not your real deadline
From October 2026, receiving sites must record every inbound load digitally, and your details form part of that record. To create a clean record, receivers need clean digital handover data from you. So they will start asking for it a full year before your own mandate begins, and a load that turns up without it can be refused at the gate. The risk here is lost loads and lost contracts, not just a future penalty.
The capture, from the driver's side
