Introducing LoadSnap Connect: a clean digital handover between carriers and receivers

LoadSnap Connect links a carrier's load to a receiver's receipt with a unique LS code and QR, so handovers happen with no re-keying and an automatic two-way received status. Here is what it does and how to use it.

Handing a load from a carrier to a receiver has always meant re-keying. The carrier records what they moved, then the receiving site types most of it out again at the gate. LoadSnap Connect removes that step. The same load now carries a unique code from one LoadSnap user to the next, so the handover is a scan, not a re-type.

What LoadSnap Connect does

Every record in LoadSnap now automatically gets its own LoadSnap code, in the form LS-XXXXX-XXXXX, with a matching QR. That code links the carrier who moved the waste to the receiver who takes it in. Nothing to switch on, and it applies to every record from the moment a load is captured.

How the handover works

  1. A carrier captures a collection in LoadSnap as normal. The load is minted with its LS code and QR automatically.

  2. The carrier shares the code or QR with the receiver. It appears on the record detail and on the driver's submit success screen, ready to copy or scan.

  3. At the gate, the receiver enters the tracking ID or scans the QR. LoadSnap looks the load up and pre-fills the receipt with the waste type, codes and details already captured.

  4. When the receiver accepts the load, the carrier's record flips to received automatically. Both sides see the same status, with no phone calls and no chasing paperwork.

Why this matters before the mandate

You do not need to wait for Digital Waste Tracking to force digital handover. Connect removes the re-keying and the guesswork between two LoadSnap users today. And from October 2026, receiving sites will expect clean digital handover data from the carriers who deliver to them. Connect gives you that clean data, and the habit, now.

LoadSnap codes are separate from DEFRA tracking

This is important, so it is worth being clear. The LS-XXXXX-XXXXX code is LoadSnap's own code for the handover between LoadSnap users. It is not a DEFRA Digital Waste Tracking ID.

LoadSnap files your movements to DEFRA's Digital Waste Tracking service for the statutory record, exactly as it does now, and stores the DEFRA tracking reference against each record. LoadSnap Connect sits alongside that as a workflow layer between users. The two are kept deliberately separate, so when carriers come into the statutory DEFRA system in Phase 2, you will always know which is the legal record and which is the LoadSnap handover. Keeping them apart now means no confusion later.

What you need to do

Nothing to set up. Every new record already carries its LS code. If you take waste in, you can start pulling loads in by code or QR at the gate. If you move waste, your codes are ready to share with the sites you deliver to.

In short: a carrier captures once, the receiver pulls it in with a scan, and both records stay in step. Less typing, fewer errors, and a clean digital trail building quietly in the background.
