Amending or correcting a waste record

How to amend or correct a filed waste record in LoadSnap, when you must do it, and how the update reaches DEFRA while keeping the same tracking reference.

Information changes. A treatment route gets decided, a weight gets corrected, a load is reclassified. Digital Waste Tracking expects records to stay accurate, and LoadSnap lets you amend a filed record and push the update to DEFRA against the same tracking reference.

When to amend

Amend a record whenever the information changes: a correction to the waste type or weight, a change of treatment route, or a change to acceptance or rejection. If you spot a genuine error, the rule is to correct it within one month of becoming aware of it.

How to amend a record

  1. Open the record from your movements or records list. You can search by date, carrier or producer.

  2. Select edit, and change the fields that need updating.

  3. Save and confirm. LoadSnap files the amendment to DEFRA and keeps the same tracking reference, so the history stays joined up.

Your audit trail

Amendments do not overwrite history. The record keeps the original capture, the photo and the timestamps, with the change recorded on top. That is exactly the kind of transparent trail the DWT regime is designed to reward.
