Fuel is the biggest cost on the wagon after the driver, and pump prices move about more than most people realise. The Fuel Finder shows pump prices around a vehicle or a depot, so a fill goes where it is cheapest rather than wherever the driver happened to be.
How to do it
In the sidebar, under Tools, click Fuel Finder. The map opens around you.
Pick the vehicle. The map moves to where that vehicle's driver last was, and the fuel grade is set from the vehicle, so you are not pricing diesel for a petrol van.
Change the grade if you need to: Diesel, Unleaded, Super or Premium diesel. Set the radius, from 5 miles up to 100, or just drag the map to the area you want. The list follows whatever the map is showing.
Sort by Price or by Distance. Open now and Fresh prices are both worth turning on before you send anybody anywhere.
On the station you want, click the Send button. It is labelled with the driver's first name.
What the driver sees
It lands as a message in their chat, with the station, the price, the address and a link that opens directions in their phone's maps.
They can also open Fuel Finder in the app themselves, under More, and tap Navigate on any station.
After they fill up, they log it under Activity, then Fuel.
Worth knowing
The Send button only appears when a driver is checked in on the vehicle you picked. No driver on the wagon, no button.
The search box above the list looks through the stations already on screen by name. It does not move the map. Pick a vehicle, or drag the map, to change the area.
Prices come from a live feed and change through the day. The Fresh prices filter hides the stale ones, and a price you looked at an hour ago is worth a second look before a long run.
A penny a litre across a fleet is real money over a year, and this is the screen where that shows up.
