Drivers are the people who carry waste out on the road. Used by carriers.
What it is
Driving is one of the things a person can do for you, and it is switched on against their record on the Team page. Somebody who drives gets the driver app on their phone, where they capture collections, see the work they are on, manage their own details and message the office. There is nothing to install: the app runs in the browser and can be added to the home screen.
Drivers used to have a page of their own. They do not any more, because the same person is often more than one thing: a driver who covers your weighbridge, or a transport manager who takes a wagon out on a Friday. One record per human being, with what they can get into shown as chips against their name. The old Drivers page now takes you to Team with the Drivers tab already selected.
Why it's there
You need a record of who drives for you, so you can crew them onto vehicles, give them the app, and keep their compliance, such as licence and CPC dates, in order.
How it works
On Team, click Add someone, put in their name and email, and switch on "Drives for us". A Driver details section opens for their role, home yard, address and emergency contact. Leave the invite ticked and LoadSnap emails them a link to set their own password.
Click anybody's row on Team to open their record. If they drive, everything about their driving is there: their licence and CPC, their vehicle, their collections and their invite. If they work the weighbridge too, that half sits beside it under its own tab.
In the app they see the vehicle and jobs they are crewed on for the day, and capture a collection with a photo, which the AI classifies. Drivers are crewed onto vehicles under Assignment, and the vehicle carries the jobs.
Licence and compliance
A driver can verify their own driving licence through the app, with their consent. This surfaces their entitlements and any penalty points on the compliance dashboard, and feeds into which jobs and waste types they can be assigned.
Signing in
There is one sign-in for everybody, at the same address the office uses. Somebody who drives and also works a weighbridge signs in once and picks where they are going. On a phone the office is never offered, because jobs, records and invoices are a desk job.
