Operatives are the people who work on a receiving site, for example on the weighbridge. Used by receivers.
What it is
Working the weighbridge is one of the things a person can do for you, and it is switched on against their record on the Team page. Somebody with it switched on gets the receiving app on a phone or a tablet: the weighbridge receipt form rather than collection capture, so they see what they need at the gate and nothing else.
Operatives used to have a page of their own. They do not any more, because the same person is often more than one thing: somebody who weighs loads in and drives a shunter, or an office manager who covers the gate at lunchtime. One record per human being, with what they can get into shown as chips against their name. The old Operatives page now takes you to Team with the Weighbridge tab already selected.
Why it's there
You need to know who is logging receipts, and to give them their own way in to do it. It is what makes the record accountable: their activity is tracked against them.
How it works
On Team, click Add someone, put in their name and email, and switch on "Works the weighbridge". They pick the site they are standing at when they sign in, so one person can cover more than one gate. Leave the invite ticked and LoadSnap emails them a link to set their own password.
At the gate the operative processes each vehicle: scans the carrier's code, weighs the vehicle in and out, and confirms the receipt on a single-page form built for speed, because a weighbridge handles many vehicles in a day. If a load cannot be accepted, they record the rejection and the reason at the gate, and for hazardous waste that feeds the consignee return.
Click their row on Team to open their record and see their receipts, their site and their invite. If they drive as well, that half sits beside it under its own tab.
Signing in
There is one sign-in for everybody, at the same address the office uses. Somebody who works the weighbridge and also drives signs in once and picks where they are going. An owner or admin who wants to see the gate as their staff see it can open Operative Mode from the top bar instead.
