LoadSnap gives work to vehicles, and drivers to vehicles. So Assignment is the screen that decides whose phone this morning's jobs turn up on.
Most yards set it once and barely touch it, because the same driver is on the same wagon week in week out. You come back to it when somebody is off, or a wagon is in for repair.
How to do it
In the sidebar, under People & Places, click Assignment.
Along the top you get four counts: vehicles available, how many are crewed, how many drivers are free and how many are on leave.
Your vehicles are down the left and your free drivers down the right. Drag a driver onto a vehicle to put them on it.
Drag a second person on if the wagon runs with a mate. Up to four fit on one vehicle. Tap the small Driver or Crew label on somebody's name to say which they are, and the cross beside it to take them off again.
If you run out of more than one yard, use the yard tabs so you are only looking at the one you are crewing.
Click Save. Nothing you have dragged takes effect until you do.
Worth knowing
Assignments stick. This is not a rota you redo every morning: a driver stays on their wagon until you move them.
Anyone booked off shows as On leave and cannot be dragged onto anything, so you do not put work on somebody who is on holiday. A wagon marked off the road cannot be crewed either.
Reset to usual fills the board in with each vehicle's regular driver after a week of covering. It only fills the board in, so you still click Save.
Only people who drive turn up on this screen. Somebody in the office who has never been switched on to drive cannot be crewed on a wagon, which is what stops the wrong name landing on a job.
Jobs follow the vehicle. A driver on no vehicle opens the app to an empty day and cannot do their vehicle check either, so if somebody says the app is empty this is the first screen to look at.
Whoever is crewed on a wagon shows in the Vehicle column on the Team page, so you can check it from there without coming back here.
