The producer portal is a free login you give your customer. They see their own collections, their transfer notes, their invoices and their contracts, and they can ask for more work without ringing the office.
Producers are the businesses whose waste you collect. Under Digital Waste Tracking they carry their own duty of care, so their paperwork being one click away is worth something to them, and it is one fewer phone call for you.
Giving producers a login is part of the Business plan and above. On the plans below it, the portal actions are not on the producer's record and you will see a note there naming the plan, with a link to see the plans.
First, which customer do you mean
It depends which side of the gate you are on, and the answer is different for a carrier and for a receiving site.
If you are a carrier, your customers are the producers whose waste you collect, and this is the portal for them.
If you run a receiving site, your customers are the carriers who tip on your site, and there is no carrier login. What a carrier gets from you is the receipt, and LoadSnap Connect for a clean handover at the gate.
If you do both, collect and receive, then the producers you collect from can have portals in the normal way. The carriers tipping on your site still cannot.
How to do it
In the sidebar, under People and Places, click Producers.
Open the customer you want to give access to.
Check they are a business. The list marks each one Commercial or Domestic. A householder does not get a portal, and neither does one of your own yards or depots.
Check they have an email address on the record. Without one there is nobody to send the login to, and the portal actions do not appear.
Open the actions menu at the top right and click Email portal login link. They get an email with a one-click way in.
If they say it has not arrived, use Copy portal link from the same menu and send it to them yourself.
Resend portal invite, on the header, is the one to use for anybody who has lost theirs.
What they see
A dashboard of their own activity.
Their jobs, past and booked, with the paperwork attached.
Their invoices, quotes and active contracts.
Their documents, including transfer notes.
Their own yards and depots, if they have more than one site.
A form to ask for a collection, which lands with you as an enquiry.
Worth knowing
Nothing goes out on its own. Adding a producer, or putting an email address on one, does not send them anything. A login is only ever sent when you press the button, so you can hold as many producers as you like with none of them online.
There is no password to lose. A producer types their email address on the portal sign-in page and LoadSnap emails them a fresh link, so they can let themselves back in without ringing you.
They only ever see their own work with you. Nothing about your other customers, your prices to anyone else, or your fleet.
If the same producer is also collected by another carrier on LoadSnap, they get one login with a carrier switcher, and an All carriers view that adds up their collections, their tonnage and their recycling across the lot. Money does not combine. Invoices, quotes and prices stay inside the carrier that raised them, so no other carrier can work out your rates.
A producer only sees carriers whose plan carries the portal, and is never told which of their carriers does not have it. If none of them does, the sign-in page tells them their carrier is not offering the portal at the moment and to get in touch.
Nothing is ever deleted. If you move off the Business plan your producers keep their accounts and their history, and the same logins work again the day you move back.
On Pro and above the portal carries your own logo and colours, so it looks like your business rather than ours. On the free plan it carries LoadSnap's.
Use View as producer to see exactly what they see before you send the invite.
