A builder, a landscaper, a shopfitter, a caterer, a mobile groomer. You move the waste your own business produces, in your own van, and you are not a waste business. LoadSnap has a deliberately smaller version of itself for you, called Trade.

One screen: Log Waste. Photograph the load, and the waste code, whether it is hazardous, and a plain description come back automatically. The record is saved and the transfer note is produced from it. At the end of the month there is a summary you can hand to your accountant.

That is the point of it. No scheduling, no customer list, no invoicing, no driver app to set up. If you find yourself wanting those, you have outgrown Trade and want Pro.

Trade means you carry only the waste your own business produces, under a lower tier carrier registration. It cannot be combined with anything else in LoadSnap, and that is not a software limit, it is what the words mean.

The moment you also collect for customers, take waste in on a site, or arrange loads for other people, you are a waste business. You need an upper tier carrier registration from the Environment Agency, and "self-carrier" has stopped being a true description of you. If you do a bit of clearance work for other people on the side, that is you.

LoadSnap will not let you tick Trade alongside carrier, receiver or broker, and it tells you why when you try.

Digital Waste Tracking becomes mandatory for permitted receiving sites in October 2026. Carriers, including lower tier ones, come in later, currently expected 2027, and that date is planned rather than confirmed. So there is nothing you have to file today. Keeping the records properly now means there is nothing to catch up on when your turn comes.
