Everything your drivers and your gate do all day adds up to numbers you would otherwise be building in a spreadsheet on a Friday afternoon. Reports is where they already are.
The two people who ask for these are your accountant and your customer. The customer usually wants to know how much of their waste got recycled, which is a question that used to take an afternoon.
How to do it
In the sidebar, under Reporting, click Reports.
Set the report period at the top: 7 days, 30 days, 90 days or 1 year. Every tab follows it.
If you run more than one site, use the site filter next to it.
Pick the tab you want:
Overview. Total jobs, how many were collected, revenue, records, overdue invoices and what is on hire, with revenue by month, jobs by status, tonnage by EWC chapter and loads over time. Environmental Impact sits at the bottom: tonnes recycled, recovered and landfilled, and the carbon saved against landfilling the same waste.
Analytics. Waste received against the period before it, receipts logged, your discrepancy rate and how your DEFRA submissions are doing, plus top waste codes, top carriers and estimated weight against actual.
Financial. Total invoiced, paid, outstanding, overdue and still in draft, with revenue by month and the split between cash and bank or card.
Operations. Jobs by driver, jobs by producer, jobs by type, and jobs by status week by week.
Hires. Only there once you have containers of your own on the system, or hires against them. What is on hire now, what is past its day, how many hires started in the period and how long the average hire runs, with hires each month by size, how long customers keep them, and how hard each size is working.
Worth knowing
The recycling and carbon figures are read off the disposal or recovery code recorded against each load, priced from the published UK government conversion factors. They are an estimate for reporting, not a measurement.
Those rates are worked out of the tonnage that actually carries a disposal or recovery code, and the page always says what that tonnage was. A load with no code, or only a storage step, is shown on its own rather than assumed to be recycled or landfilled.
Recycled and recovered are counted separately, because burning waste for energy is recovery and not recycling. Do not add them together and call it a recycling rate.
Past their day, on the Hires tab, is the report that tells you whether you need to buy more containers or go and collect the ones sat on sites doing nothing.
Invoices are not linked to sites, so the financial figures cover all sites whatever the site filter says. The page tells you when that is happening.
The figures only reflect what has been recorded, so a month with loads still unlogged in it will read light.
