Hires keep track of every container you have out with a customer, and print the On Hire Report your account customers expect each month. Used by skip hire and container firms.
What it is
A tab inside Reports. It shows what is on hire right now, which of those are past the day they were due back, how many hires you started in the period, how long the average hire lasts, how many of each size you hire out each month, and how hard each size is working against the containers you own.
Why it's there
Account customers expect a sheet each month listing what they still have on site. Working out which containers are still out, and which have been sitting somewhere far longer than they should, is a spreadsheet job in most yards. LoadSnap works it out from the jobs you have already booked, so the sheet and the screen can never disagree.
How it works
A hire starts when a job has a drop-off date on it. That is the "Drop-off and collection" option you pick when you create the job. The container stays on the list until the collection is actually marked as done, so a collection day that passed without the driver getting there leaves the container showing as still out, with the days late beside it.
On the On hire now list you can filter by customer or by size, or tick to show only the late ones. Export gives you a spreadsheet. On Hire Report prints the same list as a PDF on your own letterhead, ready to send.
Worth knowing
A job booked as a collection only, with no drop-off date, is bringing a container back rather than putting one out, so it never starts a hire.
A swap closes one hire and starts another on the same day.
The Reference / PO column shows the customer's own reference as it was typed on the job.
How hard each size works compares what is out against the containers listed on your Stock page. If you have not recorded your containers there you still get the counts, just not the percentage.
The tab appears for any firm that has hired a container out or has containers recorded. There is no setting to turn on.
