How to connect LoadSnap to Claude or ChatGPT

Add LoadSnap as a connector in Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant, so you can ask questions about your own loads, receipts and DEFRA filings in plain English.

You can plug LoadSnap straight into Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant and then ask it questions about your own records: "how many loads did we do last month", "what did we take from Barratt in May", "is anything still outstanding with DEFRA". It answers from your real data instead of guessing.

This is called the LoadSnap MCP connector. You add it once, sign in, and it stays connected. There is no key to copy and no file to edit.

Before you start

You need a LoadSnap login on the Pro plan or above. Check under Settings, then Billing. Everyone who wants to use it adds it on their own account, because the connection is signed in as them and only ever shows their own company's records.

Adding it to Claude

  1. Open Claude in your browser and go to Settings, then Connectors.

  2. Choose Add custom connector.

  3. In the box for the server URL, paste this: https://app.loadsnap.co.uk/api/mcp

  4. Press Add, then press Connect on the LoadSnap card that appears.

  5. A LoadSnap page opens asking you to sign in. Sign in the way you normally would.

  6. You will see a screen saying Claude is asking to query your company's waste data. Check the company name is right, then press Authorise.

  7. Claude takes you back and the LoadSnap connector shows as connected.

Adding it somewhere else

Anything that supports remote MCP connectors works the same way. In ChatGPT it is under Settings, Connectors, Add. In Cursor and Claude Code it goes in the MCP settings as a remote server. The address is always the same: https://app.loadsnap.co.uk/api/mcp, and you will always be sent to LoadSnap to sign in and approve.

What you can ask it

  • How many loads did we do last month, and how many tonnes was that?

  • What did we move for Barratt Homes in May?

  • Show me everything we took in last week.

  • How many DEFRA submissions have we filed this month, and did any fail?

  • Have we got anything still waiting to be filed with DEFRA?

  • Do we have a carrier called Speedy Skips on record?

Worth knowing

  • It can only read. There is no way for an assistant to create, change or delete a record in LoadSnap, so the worst a badly worded question can do is come back with nothing.

  • It only ever sees your organisation. The company is worked out from your login, not from anything the assistant sends, so it cannot ask for anyone else's records.

  • Your membership is checked on every single question. If someone leaves your organisation, their connector stops working with it straight away.

  • You will not be asked to sign in again every hour. Once it is connected it renews itself quietly.

  • To disconnect, remove the connector in the assistant's own settings. You do not need to change anything in LoadSnap.

  • Weights come back in kilograms unless it says tonnes.

  • Copilot inside LoadSnap answers the same kind of question without any setup, if you would rather stay in the app.
